Error while deploying application to Weblogic

I'm trying to deploy a JAR to a Weblogic server but get the following error:

An exception occurred for task [Deployer:149026]deploy application AppService1 on AppSrv_cluster.: Exception preparing module: EJBModule(AppService1 .jar) [EJB:011023]An error occurred while reading the deployment descriptor. The error was: Error processing annotations: .. The error was: Error processing annotations: . [06:14:55 PM] #### Deployment incomplete. #### [06:14:55 PM] Remote deployment failed (oracle.jdevimpl.deploy.common.Jsr88RemoteDeployer)

I can't pinpoint the cause. Specifically if it is caused from application or there is something in the server environment/setup causing it?

I examined my deployed JAR and it does contain the class it's claiming to not be able to load Unable to load class hal.src.v1.AppService1Impl in Jar /data/hal/admin/domain/servers/AppSrv_server1/tmp/AppService1 /q6tzi5/AppService1.jar

I've also looked at my "descriptor" file and see nothing that can be causing this error.

edit: I had a similar application on a different machine that I've deployed successfully to a (different) Weblogic server. I copied tha application to my new machine and deploy it to the server causing the above error I get the same issue- failed deployment.
