How to run project with Tomcat running on digital ocean

I have started to learn about J2EE and have started to install Tomcat onto my digital ocean from using the following Tutorial: http://ift.tt/1spRl6E

BUT, when i run the application to the desired location it directs me to the welcome page. How do i go about making it run to my project application?

I read something about WAR file but cannot see it on my Intelliji same goes with POM.XML

I have already configured the Tomcat configuration to Tomcat Server remote with host as the IP and default port of 8080.

Everytime i deploy application to the following URL: http://IP.Address:8080/ it returns a welcome page as shown from below URL of the screenshot.
