Best programming language to learn for complex web development [on hold]

I am fairly new to programming and mostly have around 1 year of experience working with html, css, Javascript, jquery/mobile bootstrap, some json, mongodb and Unix, being an electrical engineer student and studying computer science primarily for my electives.

I have some time in hand right now, enough to devote to learning one more language.

I am in a dilemma between php and j2ee (with no experience in java) with around 12 weeks of time in hand.

Which one would you prefer and/or think would be more suitable for my time frame?
