Trouble setting up env for petstore J2EE demo

Hey all I am no Java programer and am a bit stuck trying to setup and run the petstore1.3.2 demo.

I have pulled down everything required per the install docs and have configured my JAVA_HOME and J2EE_HOME, but no matter what I set I continue to see this error and cannot figure out how to get around it:

[java] Error: Could not find or load main class com.sun.enterprise.tools.admin.AdminTool

I made an assumption it was a bad classpath and tried setting that but no dice. Could anyone help point me in the direction I may be missing here?
