Spring MVC + hibernate 4

I am creating web application using Spring MVC with hibernate 4. I have added required dependency in my servlet-context.xml file, but I got the below error.

"Could not load properties; nested exception is java.io.FileNotFoundException: class path resource [database.properties] cannot be opened because it does not exist"

Any suggestion would help a lot and appreciate.
