The Wikipedia entry for Enterprise Java, under the topic of 'Web profile', says:
In an attempt to limit the footprint of web containers, both in physical and in conceptual terms, the web profile was created, a subset of the Java EE specifications.
It then goes on to list the specifications from the Enterprise Java family standardized via the JCP process, that are part of the 'Web profile'
Now my question is, are there other alternative profiles, that target different use-cases / typical usage scenarios, and as a result can help cut down the usage of an Enterprise Java product, to minimum set of packages and optional modules ?
